A garden for entertaining in Huddersfield

Spaces for socialising

With a focus on entertaining, a series of zoned areas creates spaces for dining, lounging and relaxing by the fire. The garden is nestled closely against the house, which makes the most of the feeling of refuge, whilst directing you towards the views of the wider landscape.

Contemporary, clean materials and structural planting are balanced by the softer, looser textures of the building and the ornamental planting.

A sense of arrival

Structure and directional design lines guide visitors to the house entrance, with the reward of open views out towards the landscape at the end of the path.

Prospect of landscape, refuge of home

The fall of the land creates an opportunity for a natural edge to the gardened areas. The level terrace gives way to a gently sloping lawn, which then itself begins to melt into the landscape. In creating a platform, the result is a connection to the landscape whilst retaining the sense of protection and inclusion of the house and garden.
