Not every garden challenge needs a complete redesign. Sometimes you just need the right person in your corner, someone who can look at your space with fresh eyes, cut through the uncertainty and give you the clarity to move forward with confidence.
Our Garden Consultation is designed for homeowners who want professional guidance without committing to a full design service. It’s perfect if you’re planning your planting yourself and want expert input, have a specific problem to solve or are simply not sure where to start and would benefit from a professional steer.
Whatever brings you to us, you’ll get dedicated time with Director, Rob Hardy; honest, practical advice from someone who has designed gardens at the very highest level. You’ll leave with clarity, a written summary of everything discussed and tailored factsheets to support you as your project moves forward.

Online Garden Consultations
A focused video consultation available to clients anywhere in the UK. Share photos, plans or mood boards ahead of time and Rob will come prepared with tailored advice for your specific garden and challenges. Following your online consultation, Rob will provide written notes summarising the key points discussed and any key recommendations.

In person Garden Consultations
Our most hands-on option and often the most valuable. Walking your space together allows Rob to assess it properly and give advice that is truly specific to what he sees. Available to clients in Yorkshire and surrounding counties; travel expenses will be confirmed at the time of booking. Following your consultation, Rob will provide written notes summarising the key points discussed and any key recommendations he has made for your garden.

Where we travel to for in-person garden consultations
In-person consultations are available to clients in Yorkshire and surrounding counties, including North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire and County Durham. Travel expenses will be confirmed at the time of booking. If you’re outside of these areas, our online consultations are available to clients anywhere in the UK.

Yes, your consultation is with Rob Hardy personally, not a member of his team.

Once your booking is confirmed, we'll send you a short questionnaire to complete. For online consultations, it's helpful to share photos of your garden and any existing plans or inspiration ahead of time. The more we know going in, the more valuable the session will be.

Yes, for online consultations via Microsoft Teams you're welcome to record the session for your own reference. Please let us know at the start of the call.

If it becomes clear during the session that your project would benefit from more extensive input, Rob will discuss the options with you, including whether our full garden design service would be a better fit.

Yes. Some clients find it useful to have a follow-up session as their project develops, for example, once they have quotes from contractors or once the hard landscaping is complete and they're ready to think about planting. Just get in touch to arrange.

Yes. Following your session you'll receive a written summary of the discussion and tailored factsheets relevant to your garden and the topics covered. These are yours to keep and refer back to throughout your project.
Consultation Cancellations and Rescheduling
Consultations are confirmed upon receipt of full payment by bank transfer or card. Travel expenses for in-person consultations are invoiced separately following location confirmation.
Cancellations more than 72 hours before your session receive a full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours are non-refundable, though we’ll do our best to offer an alternative date. If we need to cancel for any reason, you’ll receive a full refund or an alternative date.
